The first component of the ‘Hotstart’ program involves students undertaking one-week of
face-to-face pre-employment training delivered at one of our partner schools. The
pre-employment training program will give students a ‘taste’ of front and back of house
hospitality activities and prepare them for the realities of the workplace.
On the final day of the pre-employment training students will be directly involved in a
OzHarvest ‘Cook for a Cause’ event. This will involve students working with chefs from our
partner organisations to prepare rescued food for delivery to the OzHarvest network.
On successful completion of the pre-employment training all participants will receive a
voucher to complete an ACT approved online Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course.
